I hope to speak more with Dr Cole about his impressions regarding the role of subclinical epileptiform discharges in Alzheimer’s disease and perhaps inquire about the theoretical effect Anavex 2-73 may have both on cognitive changes and epileptiform abnormalities often seen in Alzheimers.
The abstract points to the role of how epileptiform abnormalities affect cognition in Alzheimer’s and from this, we can extrapolate that if the upcoming Retts trial shows dramatic reduction in seizures then perhaps the broad antiepileptic effect of 2-73 combined with the proposed restoration of cellular homeostasis effect it has will be even more of a reason why 2-73 may get approval for broad neurological indications.
It is my belief that the science of 2-73 (and 3-71) is way beyond where the market is at present in understanding the future value and potential of this company.
