Lastly: does Li (or LQMT the corporate entity) own the trade name / trademark LIQUIDMETAL outright?
or did Apple get that too with the 2010 MTA?
Trademarks are a form of intellectual property and were included in the LMT technology licensed to Apple. (See, MTA, LMT Technology, Section 1, http://contracts.onecle.com/liquidmetal/apple-transaction-2010-08-05.shtml for the definition of LMT Technology, which includes "intellectual property rights .... [including] trademark and trade name rights.")
So, Apple has exclusive rights to use LQMT's trademarks in the field of consumer electronics. (See, MTA, Annex 6, Section 2.1.)
