It's a bit odd that they would mention a specific date to which they are buying back shares unless the articles writer meant they are starting to or started to on that date.

I disagree with making an announcement though FUN unless they have a legal responsibility to. If I were a CEO why would I announce to folks that I'm buying back company shares. That usually would appear to others that 1, the company feels/knows that the shares are undervalued or 2, that something is coming regarding the company.

If it's legal to not say anything then I wouldn't. I would get them much cheaper by keeping my mouth shut.

Imo when a pink sheet company announces they are planning to buy back shares, it's just so they can up the volume to sell some shares.
