Constellation announced a share buyback program a year ago this month. Understanding there's a lot more influencing the stock price, STZ is up 40% since then. I don't think announcing the program has any downside...it would be great for us shareholders. FUN, this may mean they're expecting significant cash from shipments this quarter.

Companies announce share buybacks because it's a really good thing for shareholders. It's not a legal thing.

Companies announce a dollar amount they'll buy back. They never announce a single date they'll do it.

As I said, I believe the articles were fake news.

I could be wrong but i think they have to announce share buybacks as to do so would constitute a "material event".
