Donald Trump and Paul Ryan are going to raise your taxes -- and give a massive tax cut to billionaires and big corporations.

Yesterday the Republicans unveiled their tax plan, and it's even worse than we thought. Here are some of the highlights:

Takes away the mortgage interest deduction for millions of people
Eliminates the student loan interest deduction
Eliminates the deduction for state and local taxes
Ends tax breaks for adoption
Takes away deductions for medical expenses

All of this will hit working people extremely hard. Meanwhile, corporations will see their tax rate cut from 35% to 20% -- giving big business $1 trillion in new profit. And the rich will see their taxes cut in a number of ways, including huge cuts to estate taxes.

That includes Donald Trump himself, who will personally benefit from this plan.

Trump's tax plan is already massively unpopular. A new poll shows 50% of Americans oppose it -- and 60% agree it favors the wealthy. But Republicans don't care. This is their holy grail, their most fevered dream. And they'll do whatever it takes to pass this huge tax cut for the rich. We have to stop them.

It should come as no surprise that the tax plan Trump and his party have produced is a mammoth giveaway to billionaires and multinational corporations.

For Trump, the idea that all this will come at the expense of a single parent working three jobs to pay for a college degree or a student struggling with medical debt is a feature, not a bug.

Paul Ryan and his fellow Republicans tolerate Trump's reckless, racist behavior in part because they want him to sign their tax cuts into law. They are willing to toss everyone and everything else aside in pursuit of their greedy goal.
