that's a very good question Homersbud, and I've been put through the ringer with restricted stock lists, that you only find out about when you try to place an order.
I am happily at https://us.etrade.com/home they have no restrictive tickers, and if you trade a lot you can get Etrade pro for free with I think 30 trades a quarter. It has charts, news links and a bunch of other stuff.
Never heard of anyone not liking the broker options at all.
