That depends on whether you consider Winter to be the first or last season of the year. Most of winter is at the beginning of the following year in which it starts, i.e. winter runs from Dec. 21 of the starting year to Mar. 21 of the following year. So, is winter 2003 the winter that starts in December of 2002 and runs it's course in 2003, or the winter that starts in December of 2003 and runs it's course in 2004?
