You are not wrong, being a small dog with a big bone represents plenty of risk if/when the science breaks our way. Hostile takeovers & greenmailing happens all of the time.

What Missling has going for him is that if he has something valuable no BP is going to want to force him into the arms of another one.

AVXL may not be able to go it alone but they sure can make deals all over town.

I found it curious that Management did not make a stronger case for the anti-takeover provisions at the last meeting.

They put it out there for a vote but didn't present new information or a strong rationale for why it might be needed in the coming year.

I took it to mean that they felt they had at least another year until it would be necessary.

Time will tell
