I don't believe deporting all these people is the goal. Rule of law is the goal
I agree with you. IMO, Trump made that clear. That's part of the reason I liked the statement.
As much as I like Tucker, he again let a Dem get away with a complete misrepresentation about enforcing our immigration laws.
Several times , when being pressed on who should be deported, he threw out one of OBoy's faves.
"Prosecutorial Discression"
Prosecutorial Discression has been used frequently, in individual cases. Not for an entire class of people, numbering in the hundreds of thousands.
Tucker should have called the guy on that.
I'm hoping there is some Chess Maze at play here. If the GOP comes up with a rational legislative fix for Dreamers, I think the Dims will go against it. And I'm hoping Hispanics will see through them.
I see an interesting possibility.
Let's say the Bill falls short by one vote. Insane McCain would surely be one of the recalcitrant Repubs. The Dims will certainly let it fail.
Now let's say it goes back to committee and is reintroduced with some tiny innocuous changes. The two sane recalcitrants will loudly announce that they will vote Yea on the new Bill. McCain can sit in a corner making himself go blind, for all I care.
I'll bet that 8 or 10 Dim would vote Yea, on the revised Bill. Their votes would be meaningless. It would have passed without them.
The GOP could beat them over the head for voting no, when it would have counted.
