ChrisBird,

The doctor speaking in this clip seems to be advocating for CART therapy and strongly suggests that attending doctors will be looking for a a specific biomarker that would make him a good candidate for that type if treatment. He also suggested that senator McCain may have been exposed to agent orange which was a defoliant used in Vietnam that was later determined to be carcinogenic. It was a combination of 2,4-D and 2,4,5-T. The 2,4,5-T was found to be the most active carcinogen due to benzene rings formed during the cooling process involved in making it. This is what makes this a neurotoxin as the doctor pointed out though at the diluted rates used in Vietnam neurotoxicity was very low for anyone not chronically exposed like mixers or loaders. The greater danger was environmental persistence as a long term threat. National Geographic did a piece on the affects of agent orange and made note of potential genetic defects caused in children of those who themselves were symptomatic and had higher level exposure than normal. The product makers eventually learned how to change this cooling process to make it safer but by then it was too late to save the product reputation. Up until the early 70's homeowners could purchase this mix under the Weed-Be-Gone label. Air force tankers were loaded with it on a very regular basis and from all reports it was handled very poorly and soldiers were moved not only through treated areas but also right underneath areas being treated so they were directly exposed in some cases. Air Force bases were probably fairly well contaminated and senator McCain was a pilot. Prayers for senator McCain and family. Best wishes.
