E-shute--the post certainly was not worded precisely, was it?
The meaning was intended to be "dissenting" from the usually held opinions or majority here--people such as Howie. I don't always agree with him, but he does have insights and viewpoints that are oft times intelligently and wittily stated and worthy of consideration.
That we can have civil discourse; that we can tolerate those whose views are so different than most; that even unpleasant but necessary topics are not off-limits here--those things have great value to myself.
We know the cheerleaders will always say positive things. I want to hear the contrarian viewpoint, and see if there is validity in what they say. That's one of big the reasons I follow this board to the exclusion of all others.
