The lesson here is that tech companies (not just wave) announce collaborations of many types but that many do not result in products for the marketplace. We've often reacted too strongly to these in the past. Given all we've learnt since those announcements, you'd have to think that there were technical and cost reasons that hindered the result and likely some realization that the market was not ready as well. Besides TCG, I think we will see Embassy emerging as a solution in some government situations. What is unclear is whehter this remains a relatively small niche or whther it blossoms out becuase it proves the case and the gov't influences things that connect with it. The same way TCG will focus on individual enterprises but then may blossom out as the enterprises want to connct with each other -- I think of a Walmart or GM as an example.
