He's saying he's been trying to sell for two years with no success.

Yes, GTC is Order Good until Closed. He said there were four six month orders, so, even though the offer to sell was active (Good) without (until) fully selling (Closed) for multiple six month expired limits, he hadn't been happy with this ticket for two damn years.
