hello Greg,
Right you are about the print heads. Another tip. The inks are water based so you do not have to use rubbing alcohol to clean them. Sometimes best to just soak a bunch of paper towels in water and then let the print heads f the ink cartridges sit on those water soaked towels over night.
As to the cost of replacing cartidges, have you ever tried to simply refill your own cartridge? Sure saves a lot of money.
