Thanks, do you know if the clock is started in the factory? I do not see any battery back up on he chip itself, so I would assume an external setting, at least once, must be provided for. One of the worries is tampering with a clock, since the same gate for resetting a clock (either initially or after extended power down or battery back up failure, I am assuming the flash is there because there is an intrinsic assumption that battery back up ar fallible) can be used to tamper with the clock (that was the reason for my own "secure time stamp" patent (#6,209,090) that cannot be reset locally, nor need it be).
