Thanks Xena for the catch and redirect on the EY pdf on M&A Firepower. I've recopied the link because I think slide 15 is a very powerful illustration as to who the key players are in the 2017 M&A forecast.
Two other observations:
Dr. Steffen Thomas, our patent attorney on the Board worked for Nycomed and Takeda during the $10B acquisition of the former by the latter in 2011. Bet there would be a better than 50% chance that he was on the plane to Tokyo with Dr Missling don"t you think.
A word about Biogen connections with the Far East. Biogen is partnering with Eisai on two Alzheimer's drugs, E2609 which is a BACE! inhibitor and BAN2401 which is an antibody approach to reducing amyloid in the brain. Along with their own drug, Aducanumab, which has an immense P3 protocol running into the next decade, the two companies have a lot riding on the shakey "amyloid plaque" platform. Think they are watching ANAVEX closely.
