DGagnon819, while I'm no memory materials expert, I've been following trends here from a potential investment standpoint. There have been a number of attempts to come up with materials which would replace current flash, many looking promising but then stumbling at the manufacturing step. The Holy Grail is a memory that would be cheap, fast and non-volitile, replacing DRAM, Flash and disk. Like the mythical Holy Grail, finding it has not been easy! MRAM was one such attempt, I haven't heard much from them recently.

So we have to wait and see whether Coutue's product indeed lives up to the promise of DRAM speed, Flash non-volatility, and low power consumption into a single universal memory chip. If it can do that at an affordable price then it would revolutionize computers, set-tops and handheld devices.
