I just had a crazy idea.

I read something about a bet made between Snackman and crazylarry on the WAVX board. They settled offline in a gentlemen manner.

I love betting. I do it all the time. On the craziest stuff. Like, which bird is going to fly off the wire first. Or out of a group of employees, who will go to the bathroom first. How many times will those three guys walk up to the buffet. Anything for a gamble.

Then the thought occured to me. What if you could provide a legitimate exchange to bet on anything, online. Like the weather, sports, stocks, if J.Lo and Ben will stay together, news, anything. Build an iHub-like community around it, with an eBay style of user-created bets. That will foster more bets than just some no-interaction betting forum.

House takes 3-5% of all bets for processing the bet (I'd assume credit card?), hosting the site, etc.

Anybody know of a site like this?

I'm sure it probably exists. I just had this brain fart on my way to bed.

The only problem I see with something like this is making it legitimate and accepted in the US. As I understand, online gaming has all kinds of hanky panky associated with it.

Ahhhh, America.

Edit: If this doesn't exist and one of you jackholes steal it, I'll find you. hehe
