If, indeed, the surprising outcomes in JUPITER are successfully challenged, and considering established harm of statins with regard to rhabdomyolysis as well as, potentially, diabetes, millions of patients may find better and safer options for primary prevention of vascular events.


Have the results been successfully challenged ? Statins are the SOC for at least secondary prevention.

If you read post # 208829 on Dews board , I make the clear case that I'm strongly in favor of Statins for secondary prevention and high risk CAD patients such as hetero FH with family history.

I think not smoking , regular exercise , Med diet , annual flu shot , maintaining low BP , BMI below 25 ( no pear shaped body profile ) add Vascepa etc is a better approach in primary prevention .
