To me, it was a socializing thing back in college, then I quit for 33 years because of my job. I would encourage no one who is not interested in it to partake. I personally rarely do, depends on the situation.

I grow it, legally, and it doesn't really have much more meaning to me than the tomatoes growing next to it. Used to be an act of defiance to do it, having it legal sort of takes the danger element out of it.

It is sort of like tobacco or beer or jelly donuts.. if you don't want to do it, just don't, and leave others to their pleasure.

I have peripheral neuropathy, and refuse to take the pain killers for it, pot for me is free, and I will defend my right to use a plant I grow in my garden to most anyone.
