I have to disagree with you on that hope as well though, Danielle, and agree more with the other poster. The 'paradigm shift' isn't so much in the idea to 'replace' infrastructure or to cause it to become obsolete - the 'paradigm shift' is in shifting communications entirely toward a full-on wireless solution.

It'll reshape so many aspects of how we conduct our daily lives and rituals with technologies - adding value and functionality in ways we were incapable of before. With wireless, we're no longer constrained to a desk or some sketchy mobile device that generally has trouble providing the kind of functionality we need to conduct business, and personal goals day-to-day.

We want utilization that can save the economies of the world trillions, gazillions of dollars and expenses, and needless travel that creates more dependence on fuel, etc.

That is THE 'paradigm shift' in this case. Looking at it, to me, as merely a competition play against another technology is futile because we know that competition will still force those technologies to exist and be needed in the market. Everyone may have to adjust a little to factor in another solution - but at the end of the day, it'll BOOST wireless needs (ie: towers, land-line) that much more as a result!

People just don't seem to 'get that'!
