I still to this day don't even understand the mentality that the 'tower-huggers' take, due to the fact that ground infrastructure isn't going to go away anytime soon. The fact remains that cable, fiber, and towers are going to be necessary for well off into the future - even if the Stratellite can compliment and greatly enhance the overall broadband infrastructure.
What it will do however is re-balance needs in a variety of ways - and whether placement within that infrastructure is warranted based on its purpose. Perhaps this is all they feel 'threatened' by? I don't see the point to that argument though because they were pushing for satellites to do this task for years and satellites unfortunately miserably failed due to all the inherent problems associated!
You simply cannot host a 'triple-play' on a satellite, because aside from Kepler's effect and various other drop-off issues due to oribit interval and speed (17,000 mph in orbit), you can still host triple-play via cable, fiber, tower, or Stratellite.
