Unless there are criminal charges, the typical SEC punishments appear to be a monetary fine, which often never gets paid, and a promise to not be involved in promoting or offering securities. I don't understand why stealing from investors is any different than other forms of stealing - it should be a criminal offense if the rules were violated. Oh well, if I were king......
