IMO the problem is one of patient safety and societal good, not short- or long-term investment. Even if you believe that the clinically superior legitimate drug will always outperform the heavily promoted scam drug in the market (which is a dubious belief, but besides the point), the scam drug will still be getting some nominal market share.



Agree on all of the above. (but the thread, as asked by Dew, was about market dynamics)

The manufacturer of the legit drug's stock price may not suffer, but the patients receiving the scam drug will.



Disagree strongly with this. Scams will steal share from legit companies (e.g. SRPT vs SANN) - and ultimately the legit companies will have to resort to increased scam to survive.
