I'm no expert either but a big believer in K.I.S.S.

A top freezer model, skip the water dispenser, should run faultlessly for year after year.

Due to the cabinet configuration in my kitchen, I can only buy the smallest models so I found an Amana. Cheap. Back in 1994. It's getting a tad noisy but I've never fixed even once. If it dies now, I really have no complaints.
