I don't think she meant that people outside of NY DC and PA didn't experience anything. Of course everyone did just like everyone did after the KC bombing.

It is a little bit different when you actually know people who were killed that day. The movie is supposed to be about the Port Authority police I believe?

Well one of the Port Authority policeman that was killed that day used to babysit for my sons when they were little. He lived across the street from me along with his parents and 4 siblings and I knew him from when he was about 11 years old. He left behind a wife and 3 small children.

He was the person that died that I knew the most but I also knew 4 or 5 other people who died that day.

I don't think that Trixie was saying that others didn't care. It's just not to the same extent.
