The mouse will have to be secure. The current security initiative of the PC architecture is a systematic architecture change towards security.

Mice are input devices and may feature even more means to input data (i.e. Smart card slot or other) in the future.

Any data using the USB will have to be encrypted.

That's the problem of today's PC. It was not designed with a systematic approach to security. Security has always been an "after thought".
