It’s official—ABT sells ophthalmology unit to JNJ for $4.3B in cash:

Inasmuch as ABT paid $2.8B to acquire this business in 2009 (#msg-34762429), ABT made a decent profit.

The cash proceeds will help fund ABT’s planned acquisitions of STJ and ALR.
