I completely agree JL and I have seen that first hand. My Dad, a lifetime smoker was told by his heart doctor to put them down when he had his first heart attack and Bypass surgery. He was also diabetic. His reaction was "doctors will blame an ingrown toenail on smoking". He went so far to find a doctor that would not give so much grief on his smoking. He fought his heart problems for at least 15 years before passing last year due to Blatter cancer (probably due to smoking). Despite family, doctors, and friends trying to convince him to give them up, I believe he was convinced that life wasn't as satisfying as his smoking.
