Though I do not really think it is in the cards, there is an obvious reason why she might try this.

If LP was to BK the company, she would be the only significant creditor. LP (Cognate) would thus have a lot of say in how in plays out.

If nobody was to chirp in with a cash offer, then LP (Cognate) walks with DCVAX-L.

If somebody does show interest, then LP puts her NWBO hat on and is happy to get financing.

The reason why I think this is no longer possible is that NW is around.
