As you aptly point out, when the reasons for purchasing are sound, day-to-day traffic issues will take a backseat.
In the case of MDR, I've been underwater for months. It didn't stop me from adding 1,000 shares last week. Nor did it prevent me from adding another 500 shares, either.
Today, I watching it like a hawk as I may add more. Why? Because in two weeks they'll be coming out with their quarterly numbers. Am I expecting blowout results?
Not hardly. But in this era of energy-related challenges, I'm thinking that mere survival is going to be good enough to spark confidence in the investing community. It's good enough for me.
