I don't have a clue, it's all speculation. What I believe is that the company still had a few "bugs" to work out with the drug and the specific population in which it benefits. That data is relatively new, yet robust. Furthermore, Gilead is trying to develop a similar drug own their own, but they are behind CYDY in their progress. Essentially, Gilead is trying to make the HAART regime "easier" on their own as it is more profitable because they make money off the multiple drugs in the pill. If CYDY follows through with their results and can beat the effectiveness of the HAART regime, they won't be around much longer. One drug administered weekly does not have the same financial benefit to a company like Gilead. Gilead will not want the standard of care to be replaced with something cheaper and easier. Does that make sense? Successful P3 results and CYDY will be a ticker of the past on a buyout.
