My own view is that every undergraduate should get a liberal arts degree. Which, at most of our best colleges, they do. Education is not, and should not be, job training. You get the job training later, either on the job or at professional school.
People in all sectors have humanities degrees. Why, they can speak in complete sentences, and they can actually write comprehensively. Both are skills in danger of disappearing nowadays.
