AA, one of our stand-out board members here at MDR, has divulged that he strongly believes there's a bright future for those invested in HLX. While I've looked at this particular stock, I haven't ever invested in it. However.....
AA is a strong-willed man with a broad array of experiences most of us have not had. Through personal messages going back and forth, I have come to appreciate his stance when it comes to integrity---in or out of business. That translates (for me) into trust. Simple, right?
So I think it might be interesting to share a peculiar approach towards Investing 101 by trusting in my instincts (gut) and intellect (lopsided brain lol) publicly. Mind you, this is exactly how I always invest:
I view stock investment results as what happens when we marry intellect and instinctual responses, wielding same into a "yea-or-nay" posturing. You might say I look for an overwhelming attitude of sorts, based on how I see information stacking up plus how a stock pick feels to me. To a point, some of this can be qualified although not all, certainly. At the same time, I think we can generally quantify anything in virtually all situations if we allow for slack in positive or negative zones.
My trust in and my appreciation for AA are sufficient for me to spring for an initial buy order for 200 shares of HLX.
(About a minute later...)
I now own 200 shares of HLX. I paid $4.78/share. Ordinarily I'd have nit-picked for the sake of ego and held off for a day or two, figuring the price would soon retreat from today's breathless high. But as I survey a few of my more prominent picks such as NGL, MDR and SDLP, I can't help but cut some slack for the person (s) from whom I obtained my 200 shares. Let someone else do well, too, I refuse to be a pig. Also, this is turning into a profitable week for me, as was last week. We won't talks about the previous week when I lost more than $44,000. lolololouch!
I'm handling this position launch in full view so others can explore a method of investment that may be quite foreign to them. I stand to benefit by your criticisms, questions and general comments. At the same time, I expect to remain vigilant, raking in any and all news affecting my new position. I'll be devouring and analyzing and studying and comparing and gauging results of both company orientation as well as Jugs-specific moves. And I will add to the position as befits ownership, depending upon circumstances that develop along the way.
So......wish me well, folks!
