I've visited both Volterra and Siena several times and love them both. I usually fly into Milan, but haven't spent much time there. Visited the main duomo, but Milan seems more of a working town and not being inclined to fashion, I moved on. Do you have any recs on things to do (and eat!) in Milan, for future trips?

re: Rentals, I'll figure it out. I'll probably start in a hotel and figure it out on-site. Just outside the main gate of Volterra, there's a monastery that rents classic old-world rooms for a decent price.
