Sage makes products for oral care, skin preparation and protection, patient cleaning and hygiene, turning and positioning devices, and heel care boots. Stryker Chief Executive Kevin A. Lobo said the two companies make products that are “complementary,” specifically in the area of hospital-acquired infections.

…Stryker, which last week reported its profit more than doubled in the fourth quarter, has been expanding internationally. The company has been focusing on emerging markets, including Brazil, India and China.
