I'm not an IV expert, but i will take a stab at this.

Possibly. I've seen earnings anouncements cutting IV in half, when there was big run-up in IV before the anouncement.

Are you asking the question for any strangle, or just the strangle you purchased?


Also what did you pay for your calls and puts? In your prior post you did not say.


I managed to get semi-decent prices in KCITX (Aug 22.5 Put) and KCIHK (Aug 55 Call).
