The FDA only approve Hep C drugs because they believed they could contain costs, they didn't approve Anchor because they knew they couldn't contain costs.... It doesn't make it right but I understand the dilemma. Not negotiating an Anchor label though IMO was/is malpractice. The FDA is not chartered to change treatment guidelines. Treating Trigs >150 mg/dl is medically indicated according to 2013 and 2016 AACE diabetic treatment guidelines. HHS needs to settle with Amarin for cash, there's no other way to fix the situation IMO. The FDA thought they could steam roll a small Irish Drug company...they where wrong about that too.
