Why is this renewed interest in wireless from you and others on this thread. Do you see this sector growing any time soon?

There's been a number of opinions expressed on the thread about this subject but let me make a few observation.

- No one standard will dominate any company can come up with its own standrad with slight deviation from others and call something else i.e. WCDMA, CDMA200, etc...

- The Europeans certainly not sitting on their lorals because because they enjoy GSM coverage world wide. They are hard at work,UMTS and others, and most definitely will avoid paying any royalties to abybody.

- I don't believe we'll see those systems in production sooner than approx 5 years from now.

- WCDAM capacity and baud rate is not unique.

That said I believe QCOM has a great potential is they cooperate with others instead of trying to beat them.
