That's somewhat surprising to my original thinking.
I bought one windows 8 laptop, used it for about a hour and it still sits in a corner somewhere. Didn't even bother to put windows 7 on it.
I have purchased a couple of Windows 10 and am very happy with it.
In many ways the PC market is a victim of its own success. I use the cloud more so memory is never a problem, I have very good virus protection so my computers don't go haywire and what I have is fast enough for my use so there's no need to upgrade for speed or features.
Will the I-Phone go the same route eventually? Probably.
