"Paid Bashers" Discussions Sure Seem To Scare Admin & Others....

Wonder why that is? We certainly hear enough about paid pumpers and "pump and dumps" on these boards, so why does the concept of an opposite faction, let's call them "bash and crash", seem so far fetched?

In an online forum where you can pay $5 to get 500 Facebook "likes", there can easily be people making easy money by being "hired" to bash a stock, company, or individual owner. To totally disregard this possibility is ludicrous.

Any discussion of bashers is treated so severely compared to other "infractions", one has to wonder about the reason for it. This message, the posters first on the board, led to an immediate ban....I don't see anything off topic there, simply a description of what can happen in the market...just something traders should be aware of.

Speaking of what else is illegal. The SEC says this in a publication they printed...
Aggressive shorters, and short selling pools, will sometimes hire stock “bashers”, people paid to post negative articles on blogs and message boards. Their goal is to put out negative news on a company or its products in an effort to cause the company problems and insure the stock declines so their negative bets pay off. Others will put up “flash orders” advertising to sell a large number of shares in an effort to drive down the price. Thus entrepreneurial companies not only need to fight the battles of developing new products and markets, they have to stave off the short sellers in the meantime. This growing culture of betting against a company for the sake of short-term trading profits (regardless of economic consequences) has negative economic repercussions.

While posts suggesting that a company owners daughter should be sexually molested in order to teach him a lesson or another expressing disappointment that a company owner wasn't killed in the 9/11 attacks, went without any repercussions.

Priorities????......Hmmmmm....
