I didn't read the text of your 14th Amendment posts but in principle, I agree that the anchor baby policy should be stopped.

I remember the first time I heard that children born in the US of illegal parents was in 1976. I had moved to California and read of a situation in which pregnant Mexican women would catch a bus at the border and ride it to Pre-Natal clinics in San Yisidro.

They got limited pre-natal care, on the tax payer dime, then came over to have their American citizen babies. It was shocking to find that was going on. I imagine it still is.

A few months ago an apartment unit in the Bay Area was packed with wealthy Chinese women waiting to give birth to their anchor babies.

It's called maternity tourism. If there is a way to track down those babies, their citizenship should be rescinded. But I'm completely against rescinding the citizenship of people that were born here of illegal parents, have lived their live here, gone to school here and in millions of cases raised their families here.

I seriously doubt the Courts would allow it or that Congress would pass such a provision.

I don't think I'm in a minority on that.
