This infringement has gotten a whole lot more complicated IMO.
It seems that MSFT is getting out of the phone business, sticking
with services rather than devices. The motivation of a ban would
seem to be off the table, if there is not anything to ban. As far
as liability for past infringement, the decision in federal court
is not too far away, but getting paid after the legal stalls MSFT will do could take years. NOK will be clear to start up phones
again, and an entirely new set of stalls from them against a license. An ITC ban wont be enough to get a settlement from MSFT,
if they want out of the phone biz, unless we can ban something they
want. Somebody tell me I'm full of S, before I get really crazy.
