I do know that they were following it in the avastin trials. I would venture to guess that it is monitored in all clinical trials, since the test itself is easily completed from drawn blood.

Fully agree. Certain anthracyclines have documented effects on the heart, and are administered to a point where the risk / reward is deemed advantageous. The only special consideration to cardiotoxicity is that the heart doesn't heal itself well, if at all. So it's a slightly different framework when compared to AEs like neutropenia that can be well managed / reversed.
