Many keep mentioning about the "company" not presenting at ASCO. Keep in mind that it is the principle investigator's decision about whether to submit for a conference or not. And that is our friend in Texas, what's his name. First, the company might not be in agreement about whether to present, which would explain the snub in the PR where his name was not included for the recent conference. Or, importantly, the company could be in agreement not to reveal data at ASCO because it would kill a chance at publishing in Nature, Science, Lancet, or New England Journal of Medicine. My guess is the former; I do not expect what's his name to be heading up the PHII. They will select a more high profile and experienced investigator to take the lead. I have attempted in the past to explain the distinction between company sponsors, lead investigators, and the nature of the publication process and scientific conferences in the past. I won't go further.
