Have you ever taken a bowel-cleaning drug prior to a colonoscopy?

I have and it is absolutely the worst part of a colonoscopy (the procedure itself is a breeze to me) so point well taken. I get sick almost every time I have to go through the prep. Incidentally, if someone could come up with a better prep prior to a colonoscopy, I'd have to think that would be a very successful drug. Is anything in the works? There used to be a pill you could pop but I think my gastroenterologist told me it was pulled due to not being as effective as the other preps.
