Sadly no. She was a rapid progressor. Her tumor was doubling in size every three weeks. Between the time she got her first few doses and her next scan, it only grew 1%, and her quality of life was excellent. It is a sad story, but we chose the doctor so that she would not be randomized to placebo in a trial and we wanted to see how the vaccine only treatment would work, after seeing many who did chemo and radiation not survive and have poor quality of life. Her vaccine was flown in once a month and her oncologist in the US was only marginally supportive of our efforts o chart new territory. He convinced my mom that she would be crazy not to do chemo and radiation. As soon as she started the radiation, her quality of life plummeted. She a to go on steroids which caused a range of horrible side effects. Her last MRI showed the blood supply to the tumor almost entirely diminished but she had scar tissue from the radiation in about 70-80% of her brain. She lived 22 months which was much better than the 3 a 6 months she was given at diagnosis. She was an angel.
