Absolutely agree. If Intel had brought a competitive SoC with Silvermont at that time, they would be in the market today. With a competitive successor of Silvermont (i.e. not Airmont), at 14nm with integrated modem, they would most probably crush their competition right now. It's just lousy execution, just lousy. I mean, how long did it take them to release Merrifield after it was announced? At that time, it was already completely outdated. Moorefield in phones with integrated modem one year earlier would have been competitive. What the heck do these guys think?

Imagine their competitors eat into their higher end CPU business. What will Intel do? Tick-tock a little here and there? They are faster out of their core market than they believe. Intel seriously needs to change its attitude in this game or they are screwed.
