Welcome to the discussion Robdoc and congratulations on your first post to Ihub. I wish I could completely agree with your assessment. However, the ALF-X System received their CE approval and approval for human trials back in December of 2011. Today they have completed 150 surgeries and "to date the Telelap ALF-X has already been certified for use in gynecology, urology, thoracic surgery and general surgery."
And while I haven't seen anything about a single site system coming out - each one of their surgeries has the benefit of force-feedback which is demonstrated very well in the following link:
I am not trying to discourage anyone from the SPORT System at TITAN MEDICAL. I am simply bringing attention to the fact that there is competition on the horizon and I hope that our recent delay was in an effort to make sure that we blow the competition away right out of the gate. At this point, I am firmly a believer that Titan Medical's SPORT system will be a leader in the industry and have invested consistent with that statement... ...however, at this point I would be a little disappointed if we didn't come out with some type of haptic feedback in our first model given what we know about the competition.
