SeriousMoney. Other than you and me?
The long term is something that few people have wrapped their minds about in this decade. I think that there are going to be some real gasps as they watch Google unfold its wings and fly.
I am one of the lucky people who have spent many hours at Greenfield Village/Henry Ford Museum. I have seen the first and second internal combustion engine vehicles ever built. I have been in the office of Henry Ford I on numerous occassions, and on one November evening I was privileged to have dinner at the home of Henry and Clara Ford in Dearborn, Michigan which was built in the early 1900's:
Fairlane is a stately self-contained enclave of privacy and natural beauty, tucked away on 1300 acres of rambling Dearborn farmland. Fair Lane stands today as a true reflection of Clara and Henry Ford's interests and ideals.
"We have built a home in the country since I saw you, and we love it very much . . . "
- Clara Ford, letter to a friend, 1919
If you look behind the pond, you will see two doors. The one on the left leads to his basement gameroom, or Fieldroom. It is said that it was one of Henry's favorite rooms. There is a fire place down there complete with hand carved mantle. Into that wood is carved the following: "Chop your own wood, and it will warm you twice."
If you want to hear other true stories of Henry, Clara and Fairlane, let me know. They are little known facts of these historical figures and the home is a delight to view. These stories are not in the "official" recordings of Henry's shenanighans, and are quite humorous.

Each sink in the home had four faucets. One for soft cold, another for hard cold, and two more for soft and hard hard water.
I remember taking my 1956 Chevy down to the home, and feeling a bit conspicuous when I parked it there. It still is owned by me.
That was in the 70's. I was only about 35 years old then. And did not realize that it was only a few short years after the Fords had died..... But I am becoming monotonous...

"If I were to try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for any other business. I do the very best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep doing so until the end." ~ Abraham Lincoln
